Treeline is built by Foundry24, LLC. This describes what the app stores, what it sends, and what it does not.
Your training data
Every program, session, set, weight and RPE you record is stored in a database on your device. Nothing in it is uploaded except the two things the next two sections describe — a draft program when you ask for it to be rewritten, and the name of the exercise a set was logged against.
When Treeline uses the network
One feature needs the network to work: rewriting your program around a constraint you describe. When you use it, the draft program, the sentence you typed, your onboarding answers — sports, season, days per week, equipment, experience and units, including the sport you typed in yourself if the list did not cover it — and the rest of that conversation so far are sent to a Foundry24 endpoint, which passes them to Anthropic’s Claude model running in Amazon Bedrock, and returns a list of exercise swaps. Every other screen works offline.
That request carries a random identifier for your installation, not an account and not a name. We use it to count requests per day so one device cannot exhaust the service for everyone; that count is stored against the identifier and deleted automatically after two days. None of what you sent is stored — it is passed to the model and discarded once the reply is sent. If the request fails, the error is written to our logs, which are kept for one month.
Analytics
The app records a small number of named events — a session started, a program generated — through PostHog, so we can tell which parts of the app are used. No weights, reps or RPE values are sent. A logged set does name the exercise it was logged against: exercises from Treeline’s catalogue are identified by a short id derived from their name, and an exercise you created yourself by an id made from the name you gave it. The label of the day a session belongs to is sent exactly as you typed it. This website records page views through the same service without cookies, which is why you were not asked to accept any.
